3M High Performance Green Masking Tape 401+ is designed to deliver super-sharp paint lines inapplications where surface temperatures can reach up to 250F/ 121 C. This green colored crepepaper masking tape is the fourth in our Masking Made Simple line of tapes and ideal for criticalpaint masking applications in the automotive, specialty vehicle, and industrial markets wherestrong holding and high temperature performance is required. Using our proprietary solvent-freeadhesive, the tape sticks instantly to most surfaces; including metal, rubber, glass, and plastic,as well as EPDM type rubber moldings while removing cleanly in one piece. This high-strengthcrepe-paper backing conforms to irregular surfaces, resists bleed through from most industrialpaint systems, improves visibility during the paint masking process, and achieves super-sharppaint lines.

3M High Performance Green Masking Tape 401+ is an ideal tape for industrialpainting, including two-tone color applications on trucks, buses, trailers, trains, fire trucks,ambulances and airplanes. It is easy to tear, which aids in handling, yet strong enough to resistslivering, providing ""user friendly,"" one piece removal. The tape is conformable for easymasking around corners, over contours and irregular surfaces. This tape can be qualified for ASTMD-6123 (replaces obsolete PPP-T-42C, Type I, (CID-A-A-883B)).

What is Masking Tape?
Masking tapewas developed specifically to help protect surrounding surfaces from overspray, provide cleanpaint lines, and remove easily and cleanly when finished. Our masking tapes adhere well, resistsolvents or water from the paint, and are strong enough to hang plastic sheeting, yet removecleanly without damaging the subsurface. The backing, typically crepe paper, can conform to curvedand irregular surfaces. The tape hand tears for tool-free application. A masking tape shouldspecify what surfaces it will stick to and the interval over which it will remove cleanly. A verythin or poorly manufactured tape may demonstrate splintering or shredding, either coming off theroll or when being removed after use. Some masking tapes have the tensile strength for lightcommercial and industrial applications, including bundling, labeling, sealing, temporary repairs,lane marking, splicing, and surface protection. The classic crepe paper masking tape is a lighttan color, but our masking tapes come in a variety of colors and formulations to meet general andspecific applications.
